Rain, rain, go away!

As much as I love the rain, the sky really opened up last weekend while I was at the White Rock Market (everything but frogs). I have one last Farmer's Market this weekend (tomorrow) and then it's just planning for Filberg.

This week, I have worked on some wonderful designs using the merino in stock as well as all my terrific mohair from Turkey.....

I'm into a swirl kick at the moment. It won't last long, but I am having fun with the extra embellishing, It really adds visual interest to a basic hat for sure. I have lost my drop spindle and hope that in my journey's around the house today that I can track it down....want to spin!

I think it will rain tomorrow. Will let you know.

Glorious Farmer's Markets

It's that time of year and I've finally started the Farmer's Market season. Thanks to my brother (who helped with the tent arrrangement) display, decor and all the other goodies that would generally cost a person money. He also did the grunt labour and got me all set up yesterday.

Food, pastry, organic veggies, fruits, crafts, talent in abundance....are you tempted yet?I had wonderful feedback, terrific sales and even better chats with knitters and fibre folks. It's at times like this when I am so grateful for my chosen poor artisan existance. Dispite the weather, or because of it the day just breezed by.

I sold my two favourite felt hats and that was like sending the kids away to school. This one posted above is Seeds and Pods knit in a gorgeous soy and merino wool blend and then felted. It was one of my jury pieces for the Granville Island jury (which did not get accepted)... Take that GI jury with bad taste!

Oh, I also had to depart with my Sheer Delight set. It's being sent to Iowa... Will have to find a pic of that later.

Today we are headed out to the White Rock Farmer's Market where you will find me on the odd Sunday while I wait for the Whistler Market to give me a day or two during the season. Things are looking up, picking up and I need to pack my knitting for the long car ride to White Rock.
Yippee.
